Florida's Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles will accept out-of-state DUI School attendance. It must be approved by the DHSMV in Tallahassee.(Call 850-617-2000) Generally the requirements are that the course must be in-person, must be at least 12 hours, and must include a psycho-social alcohol evaluation and counseling if recommended.

What kind of recourse is there for a DUI offender to drive for practical purposes like work, with a revoked drivers license?

If you're in Texas you can apply for an Occupational Driving Privilege that will allow you to drive for up to 12 hours a day, up to six days a week.? See a lawyer, of if you can't afford one and can deal with the hassle yourself, go to your county courthouse and ask questions until you find out whether the clerk has or can point you to a form for the application.

Unfortunately DUI convictions cannot be sealed or expunged. That is becasue the person convicted receives an Adjudication of guilt. Unlike many other charges where a person can receive a withhold of Adjudication, the statute in Florida does not allow it. Also, anytime you have been Adjudicated on any offense, you are ineligible to expunge anything else, so the other charges cannot be sealed either.
