The nurse gave you your physical license. That does not mean your driving privileges were not suspended. Your blood will be tested. If the blood reveals more than .08 BAC, then you will be charged for DUI.

Get you off the hook with whom, the insurance co., the victim of the accident? If the victim of the accident can establish that you allowed him to drive the vehicle knowing that he is an alcoholic, that victim can take your house as part of the judgment. The insurance company may refuse to pay what they owe, because you violated the contract by allowing him to repeatedly drive drunk. You love your husband? Then either help him get help, or go down with him.
