You retain an attorney, who tries to keep you out of jail on the bench warrant for your arrest. OR you appear in the state and act surprised that you are going in to custody on the old bench warrant. After 5 years you should have some money for the attorney.

Each court assesses fines and costs and other expenses. You should consult with an attorney to discuss specific details. On a first offense in Michigan, you can get a restricted license for work.
