Can I fire my attorney if I don't feel he is qualified?

Answered by attorney Christopher L Hoglin
DUI/DWI lawyer at Law Offices of Christopher L. Hoglin
The law and Courts will allow you to fire, or dismiss, your attorney at any time. However, the judge will most likely not allow it the closer you get to trial though. If you are still in the Pretrial phase of your case, you can have another attorney substitute in as your new attorney or record, or opt for a public defender, or choose to represent yourself. With a 0.09 BAC, you should be able to get your charges reduced to a wet reckless (V.C. Sec. 23103 pursuant to V.C. Sec. 23103.5). However, many times the outcome of your case depends on other factors, such as the county you were arrested in, prior charges (such as DUI), etc. You should contact an experienced DUI lawyer (* someone who has handled more than just a few DUI cases), to at least get a second opinion about your chances of success.

Is it possible to gout of country while I'm on DUI probation?

Answered by attorney Francis John Cowhig (Unclaimed Profile)
DUI/DWI lawyer at Francis John Cowhig
If you are one "informal" probation, meaning that you do not report to either a probation officer or the probation department, and you do not have any pending court dates, you can travel freely inside or outside the U.S. If you are on "formal" probation and are reporting to a probation officer, you will need his/her permission to leave the country.

Have your attorney talk to the prosecutor and your recruiter. They may be able to get the judge to terminate your probation early.
