$390 plus penalty assessments (about $1600) alcohol class which also cost money. Restricted license you get by applying for it with the DMV after suspended for 30 days. Your license will be suspended for one year.

If I'm going to plead guilty to a DUI, do I need an attorney?

You may face harsher penalties IF you do not proceed with an attorney, UNLESS you think the prosecutor prefers to deal with unrepresented individuals. Are you ready for your license to be suspended, which the prosecutor has absolutely no control over.

Should I attend my DUI criminal case hearing?

Answered by attorney Stephen Lewis Freeborn (Unclaimed Profile)
DUI/DWI lawyer at Freeborn Law Offices P.S.
That advice sounds rather unusual. Since you are looking at jail time, You need to be present at the hearing. Why your attorney would tell you otherwise, I have no idea. My clients appear at ALL criminal hearings. As a sitting judge, I also demand that the defendants appear. If they do not, I issue a warrant.
