What would the most likely outcome be for being charged with a DUI which resulted in the death of someone?

Answered by attorney Steven Fairlie
DUI/DWI lawyer at Fairlie & Lippy, P.C.
This depends on the county you are in, but if you are convicted there is a three year mandatory minimum sentence. This is a very serious charge and you should get in touch with a good lawyer who handles this type of case as soon as possible.

Is there a statute of limitation if I got a DUI while visiting in 2005?

Answered by attorney Michael B Dungan (Unclaimed Profile)
DUI/DWI lawyer at Dungan, Lady & Dunga, PLLC
The statute of limitations only applies to how long it takes to charge you, if you have an open court file, you were charged so the statute of limitations does not apply. They can bring you to trial anytime they get their hands on you, although the more time passes, the more difficult that could be for the prosecutor. You may want to explore resolving the case with a plea by mail.

Can the police arrest me for DUI after it happened? How?

Answered by attorney Lawrence Lewis (Unclaimed Profile)
DUI/DWI lawyer at Lawrence Lewis, P.C.
They have a great leaving the scene of an accident case. They have a great obstruction case. Then we will deal with the DUI. You never reported the vehicle stolen, correct? When the police arrived and saw fluids still leaking and the engine warm, they can reasonably assume it recently occurred.
