Can a DUI stop me from getting a carrying a concealed weapon?

Answered by attorney Nathaniel D Shafer

Yes, it can. A conviction for a DUI will result in Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI) denying you a concealed carry permit. This period will last for at least 6 years from the end of your probation. You should hire a lawyer immediately to help you avoid a conviction.
