Alimony and other issues are decided on a case by case basis in "equity", e.g. fairness. The question becomes is is equitable for you to receive support without children (children get support automatically)Pro.. you uprooted your life (whatever that means)Con its a short life and can you recover your previous job and life.

Generally, you have to file in the State having subject matter jurisdiction. Most States have a residency requirement to be able to file for divorce. In FL, it is six months. Consult with an attorney to discuss the specifics of your situation and your options.

If house is in husband's name, is the wife entitled to half?

Answered by attorney Ronnie Ismael Vargas (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Velez, Moreno & Vargas, LLC
Under the laws of Wisconsin, the property in all likelihood would be considered marital property, which means it is a form of community property between spouses. If there's equity in the property, you are both entitled to half. On the other hand if there is a debt with the property, the parties are jointly liable as well.
