Will an annulment be faster than divorce?

Rita Jean Jencks
Answered by attorney Rita Jean Jencks (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Jencks Law Firm P.L.L.C.
In Oklahoma to receive an annulment you have to prove fraud in the inducement of marriage, otherwise, you will have to file for divorce. It can be fast if everything is agreed upon, however, if not, it could take much longer. The filing fees are the same. You need an attorney to argue an annulment.

Is it illegal for me to have a baby by someone other than my husband?

Robert Joseph Merlin
Answered by attorney Robert Joseph Merlin (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Robert J. Merlin, P.A.
While it may technically be illegal to have a baby out of wedlock, I have never heard of someone being prosecuted for that. It happens every day. Your husband does not have to sign any papers for you to divorce him. Technically, the baby's legal father is your husband because the child was born while you were married, but you, your husband and the baby's father can straighten all of that out in your divorce. Make sure that you do because you want to make sure that the baby's father is legally declared to be the father so he can be financially responsible for the child.

Is there any way that I can have the alimony resume until the year that is supposed to stop?

Answered by attorney Robert Jason De Groot (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at R. Jason de Groot, P.A.
Get an attorney to sort through this mess. More facts are needed. The alimony is owed, but you appear to have waived it for a while. It should resume.
