Where you were married is not important, where you get divorced is determined by where you live.  If your wife moves to NC and establishes residency there, she may be able to file for divorce there depending on NC laws and requirements.

Its never a bad time to get a prenuptial agreement !!  If your boyfriend is raising the issue - consult an attorney and discuss a pre-nuptial.  You can finalize it before or after your engagement, and can even make such an agreement after marriage.  Call my office, I can help you with a pre-nuptial, and work with your boyfriend and/or his attorney.

You could ask the sheriff's officers or process servers to do that.  Tell the company you have hired that the person will be in court and the date, and they will serve it.   You can't just hand the documents to the person, you have to have some record that the person received the documents.  the sheriff's officer can bring the documents to the judge, and the judge would be able to provide the documents, and make a record that the documents are being handed to your spouse.
