Will I be able to put the child support payments made to the custodial parent directly instead of the child support office?

Answered by attorney Daniel J. Pingelton
Divorce lawyer at The Pingelton Law Firm
No. You need to pay through the payment center or you may not get credit for your payments, and you may wind up paying twice. And do-it-yourself divorce kits are a terrible idea if you have children or a long marriage or own a home or have been married a long time.

Will a man still be responsible for a child support even if it's not his?

Peter David Ticktin
Answered by attorney Peter David Ticktin (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at The Ticktin Law Group
Probably not. If there was not yet a child support order in place prior to the DNA test, the Court will not likely issue one now. If there was a child support order already in place, and your husband has now learned that he is not the father by virtue of the DNA test, he would have good grounds to petition the court to disestablish paternity and terminate child support.
