How do one go about firing one's attorney?

Your spouse's attorney should not even think about representing you. That is a conflict of interest. If you want, you can have your spouse's attorney draw up the paperwork and then you take it to your attorney so that he or she can explain any issues. Your cost will still be minimal.

So long as neither of you has a lawyer you will be viewed as trouble by the Court. Please meet with the Family Law Facilitator at your Courthouse to proceed in enlightened self-representation or hire an attorney.

Is he entitled to reimbursement of the 21 months of payments she received after becoming remarried?

default-avatar
Answered by attorney Barbara Peyton (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Peyton & Associates
The supported spouse is supposed to let the other side know when remarriage occurs. It does not need a court order to terminate. There already is a court order for it to terminate the minute the supported spouse remarries. Get an attorney and pursue reimbursement. Your husband should talk to a family law attorney in your community to protect his rights and seek reimbursement.
