My husband divorced me on 2006 in heidi without telling me after we married one year in USA. we are both lived in USA by that time till now. we have seperated since then. I want to divorce him now and want nothing from him in USA and couldn't find him, he told me by email and stated the divorce in heidi is valid in USA. please let me know if it is valid here, if yes, I don't need file divorce here

Your question is unclear. If you are divorced already you do not need to divorce again. If by "heidi" you mean the country of Haiti, unless you contest the divorce it's valid.

Yes. If there are children to provide for or properties to divide it is generally a bad idea to try to do it yourself. The cost of a mistake will be far more than the savings by trying to handle complicated matters on your own.

What can I do if my lawyer can't be found?

Answered by attorney Jay A. Rigdon
Divorce lawyer at Rockhill Pinnick LLP
1. Call for an appointment. 2. If he has no staff to set one up, send a letter. 3. If that fails, find a new lawyer. Fire the old one by sending a letter instructing him to send the file to your new lawyer.
