Can I remarry in Florida after my divorce in Texas is final or must I wait 30 days?

Robert Jensen 'Bob' Matlock

The Texas law requires a period of 30 days. You may check Florida law to see if it is different. I suggest you hire a lawyer.

Am I entitled to part of my home in a divorce?

Answered by attorney Rian F. Ankerholz (Unclaimed Profile)

In Kansas, the name of the owner on the deed does control the final disposition of the property. Kansas is an equitable property state, and the trial court can divide property as deemed fair. Because you contributed value to the house, it is likely you will be awarded some equity. Other factors may apply, such as premarital agreement terms. Consult an experienced family law attorney in your area.

I have inherited farm real estate (before marriage), husband and I farmed for 4 years together does this entitle him to any of real estate?

Answered by attorney Mark T. Peters (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Peters Law, PLLC
Maybe. Did you share the profits of the farm as community property? Did you pay him a wage for working the farm? Did you participate together in making decisions about the farming? In other words did you treat it as separate property or did you treat it as community property? If the former, then it is doubtful that he will have rights in the farm. If the latter, then he may share in it.
