What can she do about it since this whole situation is messing up her credit?

It sound like the creditor obtained a judgment. She must make a motion to the court to request that the default judgment be "vacated" to permit her to defend against the lawsuit. This request will be considered by the court only if she actually has a valid defense to the debt.

You don't have to go to counseling to save the marriage. If there are irreconcilable differences you are entitled to a divorce.

You can possibly claim adultery. It just depends on what you can prove and how you believe it would affect the outcome of the case. There is not always a huge benefit in filing for divorce on grounds of adultery. It might, however, be relevant in distribution of property or other issues. It just depends on the facts of the case and what the issues are.
