How long would I have to wait before I may get married again in Texas?

If your divorce happened in Texas the waiting period (i.e. the time for filing a motion for new trial in the divorce case) is 30 days. I can't speak for Louisiana, but 30 days is probably pretty close there as well. Why such a hurry?

If you've been separated for over 180 days (365 days after the baby is born), or if your husband has been convicted of a crime punishable by hard labor (generally a felony), you would probably be entitled to an immediate divorce.

You must get certified copies of the qualified domestic relations order and send that to the plans administrator. If you ask, your attorney will do it for you and probably do it right.
