Particularly if you're in Texas, the law is pretty clear that a state court judge can't override the IRS rule that says the parent who has primary possession of a child is entitled to claim the dependency exemption for that child. Sorry for the bad news.

If I was married for 6 years, do I get any money from ex husband?

Probably not in Idaho. Spousal maintenance is to give the other spouse an opportunity to get on his or her feet. If you are working, you don't need it. Now, there are other reasons why you might get spousal support but you need to talk with a local attorney about them.

What kind of trust? If it is a marital trust then it might not be bad if the ultimate beneficiaries are the children. If there aren't any children, who is the beneficiary of the trust? Needs more explanation.
