If my dad buys a house for me and I get divorced from my husband, will my husband be able to claim rights to it?

Mandy J. McKellar

Possibly if community labor goes into the home ( income blood sweat and tears). He could potentially have a claim of your listed on the home. If your name is nowhere on the home and it appears you are renting from dad then there will mist likely not be a claim.

Will a divorce finalize on its own or do I have to stop it?

Tajara Dommershausen

It will not finalize on its own. You can stop it by a motion to dismiss or many counties will eventually dismiss it if they don't hear from you in a long time.

If we agree on everything, can we use the same lawyer in a divorce?

No, not ethically. Agree on everything and then each get separate counsel to do a review of the proposed agreement.
