For over 28 years, Michigan Bankruptcy Lawyer Walter A. Metzen has represented thousands of consumers needing a fresh financial start. All bankruptcy attorneys at our office pride ourselves in giving personal attention to our clients. Our bankruptcy law firm primarily represents individuals and small businesses, not large corporations. Walter received his law degree in 1991 from the University of Detroit and his undergraduate B.S. degree in 1987 from Michigan State University. He is licensed to practice in the State of Michigan and before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, as well as the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern and Western District of Michigan. Attorney Metzen is a member of the Michigan Bar, the American Bar Association, the Consumer Bankruptcy Association, the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, Inc., the American Bankruptcy Institute, and the Debtor’s Bar Association of Detroit Michigan. Mr. Metzen has been a Board Certified Specialist in Consumer Bankruptcy since 2005 and was recently recognized as a Michigan Super Lawyer in Consumer Bankruptcy.

I attempted to file my chapter 7 bankruptcy by myself. However, my case became extremely complicated and was completely out of my scope of knowledge. Walter was the only reasonable, fair, and patient attorney that would take on my case. He was trustworthy and forthcoming. Other attorneys I reached out to either would not take my case because I filed on my own, tried to charge me an excessive amount of money or tried to convince me to convert to a chapter 13. It was discouraging and scary because I had no idea how to proceed forward. Walter was able to keep my case as a chapter 7 but he also got it discharged without me losing anything or breaking the bank. I would recommend Walter 100 times over.

Hired Attorney Walter A. Metzen

This lawyer did what he said he would do. He charged a fair rate of 1200.00 and then even got me back cash settlements nearly covering the total cost of filing for bankruptcy. I have recommended him to at least 3 people planning on filing. I didn't always get to correspond directly with Mr. Metzen, but his associate was helpful and capable before the judge at the hearing.
