The firm was founded by Scott Alagood and Brian Cartwright, former shareholders of Philips & Hopkins, P.C., in Denton. In 2013, Samuel B. Burke joined Alagood & Cartwright, P.C. as a Shareholder and Ryan T. Webster joined the firm as an Associate Attorney in 2017. Scott, Brian, Sam, and Ryan have over 55 years of combined legal experience and we are proud to say that the majority of our new clients are referred by existing clients or other practicing attorneys. We have built a loyal client base and they continue to return to us to meet their legal needs.

Our firm philosophy is based upon a solid understanding of the law. "An attorney must consider all factual and legal parameters as well as the practical and emotional implications that exist," states Brian Cartwright. "We provide our clients with options and present those options in a simple, straightforward manner," adds Scott Alagood.

While our law firm's practice includes federal, state and out of state legal matters, we provide Texans with quality legal services through close personal attention. Hired Attorney R. Scott Alagood

I have used Scott Alagood for a real estate transaction. Scott and his support staff were very helpful and informative. He answered all my emails immediately and my phone calls were all returned. Our first meeting he gave me a list of things that I could do that would save money. Which I greatly appreciated. Scott was very professional when dealing with a difficult opposing counsel and made the process rather pleasant. Will use Scott again and have recommended him to several of my friends

Hired Law Firm

Alagood and Cartwright have handled matters for me ranging from LLC to contract mediation. They successfully argued before local courts, then appellate court taking down a local "legend", sanctions were brought against the entity and upheld. I know Alagood and Cartwright will lead their clients wisely. They do not tell you what you want to hear, but what you need to hear. If there is need for litigation, they will handle matters for me.

Hired Law Firm

I dealt with Ryan Webster on a Trust my parents had set up. Webster stated, "After reviewing the documents that you've provided to me (at no additional charge)": He could not find or did not remember I had previously provided him the SAME DOCUMENTS and paid him $600 to review them I was present for the review. Webster then advised me to consult a different attorney since we were in disagreement with what needed to be done. I did, and the other attorney fixed the issue for much less money!!
