Prior to going into private practice, Mr. Bonamo was a prosecutor for a total of nine years, having worked as an Assistant State Attorney for the 7th Judicial Circuit of Florida, and was also an Assistant United States Attorney for the United States Attorney’s Office, Middle District of Florida. Mr. Bonamo handled and tried all types of criminal matters, including homicides, career criminal prosecution and complex white-collar / fraud cases. He served as a Supervising Attorney in the Felony Trial Division for several years. While a state prosecutor, he was also an Adjunct Professor at the former Daytona Beach Community College teaching in the areas of criminal and constitutional law. Mr. Bonamo is the elected Board of Governor Representative to The Florida Bar for the 7th Judicial Circuit of Florida, serving currently on the Board of Governor’s Disciplinary Procedural Rules Committee, Communications Committee, the Disciplinary Review Committee, and Executive Committee. Mr. Bonamo is an “Advisor” attorney for the Florida Bar’s Lawyers Advising Lawyers Program (LAL). Mr. Bonamo previously served as a mentor for law school students in Florida through The Florida Bar’s E Mentor Program. He is a former board member and officer for the Volusia County Bar Association and is a prior President of the Volusia County Bar Association. Mr. Bonamo is a former Board of Director for the Bert Fish Medical Center Foundation, and as well is a former member of Board of Directors for the SE Volusia County Chamber of Commerce.

Attorney Bonamo made a possibly uneasy situation for me a breeze! Communication with him and his paralegal, Ashleigh Drexler, was always handled in a professional manner with quick responses. The office staff was pleasant and accommodating when I needed to go into the law firm in person. When I needed more of an explanation for anything, it was discussed until I completely understood it. If you need to use a family law attorney, I would highly recommend ATtorney Bonamo and his team.
