I was looking for a law firm to update our estate planning documents. I contacted multiple firms to see what the first steps were before deciding who to hire. I talked with Ms. Stanley and she outlined the process. I was told I needed to fill out forms stating our assets and desires so she could discuss our situation with us in a phone call. The next step was for her to propose an approach and provide a proposed cost for her services. If we accepted the proposal then we would sign the proposal and she would be our representative for Estate Planning. We went to another law firm to compare services and went through the same scenario submitting our information and having a phone call with the firm so we could compare firms and select who we want to represent us. She billed us $453.25 before we even decided to hire her. We have not signed anything and don't feel we owe your firm anything for a consultation to decide who we want to represent us.
I had this Attorney for foreclosure prevention back in 2013 To begin with we had a conversation about myself prior to my reason for seeing him. He gave some negative comments about me. After that and times I may have contacted him I would ask questions and he refused to answer because he told me I would run to where ever and say what he had said. Why would that matter if what he says is the truth. My case was dismissed on the foreclosure but not for anything that he had done.
