This sounds like you accepted a deferred judgment and sentence from the court. A deferred judgment allows a defendant to plead guilty, complete some request of the prosecution and ultimately have the case dismissed. For most purposes, you may be able to state you do not have a conviction on your record. However, Colorado will view this still as a conviction until it is sealed from your record. Once it is sealed, you can legally claim that the case never existed.
