Can an inmate testify on a case?

Answered by attorney Eric J Trabin (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at The Trabin Law Firm, P.L.
Of course they can testify. Likewise, their credibility can be called into question. A person's interest in a case, felony convictions, or convictions for crimes involving dishonesty (and more) are all valid areas for impeachment.

Can the state attorneys office revoke my bond?

Answered by attorney Michael D. Fluke
Criminal Law lawyer at Michael D. Fluke, P.A.
Yes your bond can be revoked if you violate the conditions of your release, but a new bond must be set. If the facts are as you claim, get the written documentation to your attorney immediately. Good luck.

Will she be required to do jail/prison time before deportation, or is she able to forego jail time and receive deportation immediately?

Answered by attorney Ryan Patrick Rooth (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Rooth Law Group, P.A.
If you haven't already you should consult an immigration attorney. There is always a chance she could "win" and avoid deportation. I assume you are dealing with State charges and not federal charges. Typically the fed's wait until the state sentence is served then they deport. On occasion, they will deport before the state charges are even completed in court which creates another issue. If serving time is necessary and deportation is inevitable, sometimes you can negotiate a resolution to minimize prison time since she will be deported immediately as well. These are just a few of many issues that need to be discussed with an attorney.
