What happens if I was found guilty of assault but the victim did not want to have me arrested?

Answered by attorney Lawrence Thomas Lewis (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Lawrence Lewis, P.C.
How were you found guilty? Did you have a trial? Did you plead guilty? IF not, you were just arrested. The victim does not need to press charges. Once the police are called, the state has the case, and the victim serves as a witness for state. The police do not need to read your Miranda rights.

You would be eligible fpr parole after serving approximately one-third of the sentence, with credit for 'good behavior'. We work closely with clients and the Parole Board at the beginning of the sentence to inusre that the proper actions are taken by the client/inmate to be successful in their request for parole. Please call immediately to discuss. Ed Dimon, Esq. 732-797-1600 ext 235
