Can I go to jail if my wife has weed in the house?

Answered by attorney Mark R. Thiessen
Criminal Law lawyer at Thiessen Law Firm
Yes. It is in your house. Both of you can be arrested and you can fight it out in court who takes ownership. But cops could definitely come and arrest everyone in the house for possession. Hopefully she then takes responsibility and your charges are then dropped, but you will still have a charge on your record for weed for the rest of your life until you get it expunged, which is about $2k.

This should be handled by your lawyer. All communication should be through him or her. Depending on the agreement you have with the company, they may have the right to demand a polygraph as a term of continued employment but you cannot be required to take it. Ask your attorney what your rights are and make a decision if it is worthwhile to try to keep the job or to resign under protest.
