Theft $50 to $500 is a Class B misdemeanor. You need to hire a lawyer to represent you so that you can try to avoid keeping this charge (and certainly getting a conviction) on your record. Theft is a crime of moral turpitude that could have long term repercussions.

Hi, Fortunately, not having money doesn't impact your access to counsel. He will be assigned a very competent attorney from Legal Aid or 18B. Whether the case goes to trial or not however depends on a lot of facts and strategies that the attorney will likely play close to his chest. But ultimately, whether something goes to trial or not is completely dependant on the accused and how willing he is to take a plea offer.  Unfortunately, without more details of your case, I cannot truly assess it accurately.  Should you have any other questions and would like to speak with us, please feel free to call 1-888-693-8437 ext. 04830062. Are law enforcement able to raid peoples homes?

Most law enforcement officers, with a warrant, prefer to do a raid at 6::00am when the occupants are home. They can raid at anytime also without a warrant if in "hot pursuit".
