Generally, it would be unwise to do so but not necessarily illegal, foolish personal preferences and prejudices are precisely what they are.

What is the distance a police officer can stop you from a traffic violation?

Criminal Law lawyer at Lawrence Lewis, P.C.
The police officer can stop you the next day, five miles away. That was easy. If you hit someone and flee the scene. You can be arrested in another county, three weeks later IF they have reliable evidence that you hit and ran.

Do I have a right as a defendant to see the police report of the assault charges are being put against me?

You do have the right to see the report. IF you a representing yourself, then you are at a disadvantage, because you do not know what motions to file to get a copy of the police report. IF you are represented by an attorney, get a new attorney, because he/she has no clue what they are doing.
