You might be able to apply for restoration of firearm rights 8 years after the completion of your sentence. You can move to terminate probation after you have completed one-half of the time without violations, and having fulfilled all conditions. If there is a conviction you cannot get an expungement.

It is possible to get probation for a first offender. However, if the burglary was of an inhabited dwelling, the charge carries a minimum sentence of 1 year in prison to a maximum of 12 years.
