If arrested and do the pre-trail thing does that mean the charges were dropped.

Answered by attorney Diane Buerger
Criminal Law lawyer at The Buerger Law Firm, P.A.
If your case was put into a pretrial diversion or pretrial intervention program -- and you successfully completed it, the state should have filed a written No Bill or Nolle Prosequi in the case. Even if you successfully completed every condition of the pretrial diversion or intervention program, you should not assume the case/charges were dropped.  The case/charges are not dropped unless, and until, the state files either the No Bill or Nolle Prosequi.     If the state filed a No Bill or Nolle Prosequi of the entire case/charges, then the case/charges were dropped.  The best way to know if that happened is to contact the Clerk of Court and ask for a copy of the No Bill or Nolle Prosequi.  Then make sure the No Bill or Nolle Prosequi included all of the charges in the case.

Not much trouble.Probably a good talking to and leave it at that, if this is the only problem. If drugs are involved, it's a much different case.

What do I do about filing a false police report when there was an actual crime that needs to be followed up on?

Your boyfriend filed a false police report. The person who wrecked the car had your boyfriend's permission to usae the car. You can sue him for the damages but your boyfriend's insurance company will not pay for the loss.
