What should I do if my ex girlfriend wanted her gift back?

Answered by attorney Nathaniel D Shafer
Criminal Law lawyer at Natty Shafer Law
It's up to you, but you are not legally required to return them. Gifts are permanent transfers of property. They are legally yours now. You are free to return them is you want to, but you can also sell them or keep them.

What can I do to clear my name from a crime I did not commit?

You are trying to have your name cleared before any charges are filed. Good idea. Retain an attorney to speak to both the accuser and the officer that will eventually take the warrant. I don't recommend you do it yourself, because your accuser may allege that you are still harassing him/her.

Can the sheriff talk to my 6 year old and interrogate him without my permission?

The sheriff can take your son. IF they determined that it was an on-going thing you would have been charged for failure to protect your son. The police are not required to speak to the parent that may be abusing the child, in order to get permission to speak to the child about the abuse.
