Should I go even if my name is written wrong on the summon?

You run a risk by not going. Instead, I would call the court clerk and see if it can be straightened out. Otherwise, it's hard to claim you did not have knowledge of the court date when you received a summons even have some of the technical information is incorrect.

VOP by moving out of state can I hire a attorney to just have me banned from that state since I’m gone and it’s a felony?

Cynthia Russell Henley

The matter cannot be handled in the way you suggest. If you are arrested in the new state, the state which has the warrant has the option of having you held until they pick you up and extradite you. States can and do extradite on felony cases. The only possibilities of handling the case once that occurs is reinstatement of probation (not likely) or a prison term. I suggest you hire a lawyer where you have the probation and see if you can return and get the probation unsatisfactorily terminated.

Your question requires an attorney consultation. It is not a simple question that can be answered on this type of forum. There are many factors that would need to be considered and evaluated. I strongly that you contact an experienced criminal defense attorney for a face-to-face consultation and give him/her all of the facts surrounding your case. He/she would then be in a better position to analyze your case and advise you of your options.
