If you don't have an attorney to represent you and you don't appear at the court date, then the court will issue a warrant for your arrest.

How can I as the victim have an aggrevated assault charge dropped?

You have the right to tell the district attorney prosecuting the case that you do not wish to file charges or testify and that you want to see the charges dismissed. The decision is up to the district attorney and the court, however, as an offense of this nature is not only seen as one committed against you, but against the general public as well. You can still be subpoenaed to testify in the matter.

What happens with an out of state arrest warrant?

Answered by attorney Francis John Cowhig (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Francis John Cowhig
Anybody can provide information to a court or law enforcement agency. It is usually up to the local agency and court as to whether or not they will honor an out of state arrest warrant and whether the out of state agency wants to have you extradited back to that state. A lot will depend on what the arrest warrant is for. The more serious the crime, the better the chance of being extradited. If you are presently being represented by an attorney, you should discuss this matter with him/her. If you are not represented by an attorney, I strongly suggest that you contact an experienced criminal law attorney for a face-to-face consultation and give him/her all of the facts surrounding your case.
