Once I go to pay the fine in full, will violation of probation be removed?

The VOP will not go away once the fine is paid. You should hire an attorney in the area and you may be able to handle it from CO.

May I choose an attorney or public defender for my child before the court date?

If you cannot afford an attorney, the public defender can be appointed. You need to retain private counsel who will be aggressive in representing your son. It would be a good idea for you to take the son to his psychiatrist for a determination of whether he knew what he was doing at the time of this incident. That will probably help to show that he did not appreciate the consequences of his actions and has a mental deficiency which should not be addressed and cannot be adequately addressed in a criminal court. Be sure to speak with an attorney about taking the child to the psychiatrist before doing so.

Could the company I used to work with send me to court after stealing $200 and could it be avoided?

default-avatar
Answered by attorney Terry Alan Nelson (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Nelson & Lawless
If they file theft charges, you will be arrested. They can do so even if you paid their demand. Many companies will, on principle. You should have hired an attorney earlier. Now, if serious about doing so, contact me. If done in time, an attorney may be able to negotiate with the company for a civil compromise agreement that could avoid criminal charges being filed.
