What will happen to someone on probation if he fails the polygraph test?

Answered by attorney Lawrence Thomas Lewis (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Lawrence Lewis, P.C.
IF the person violates probation, they can be sent to prison. I do not know why probation would administer a polygraph on a closed case, but I suspect that you have the information incorrect.

Should I plead guilty if it was my friend, who was caught stealing and I was just with her?

Answered by attorney Andrea Rogers (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at The Rogers Law Firm
No. Do not plead guilty. If you are charged with stealing, hire an attorney to represent you. Your attorney can get this charge reduced to a lesser offense.

Can someone get bond?

Answered by attorney Diane Buerger
Criminal Law lawyer at The Buerger Law Firm, P.A.
It is not possible to tell you what is going to happen in your friend's case.  However, whether a person charged with a criminal offense can get bond -- and, if so, how much, depends on a number of considerations, including the nature of the charge; whether the person has a permanent place where he/she resides; how long the person has lived there; whether the person has family members or other close ties to the community where the charges were filed; the prior criminal record; any other pending criminal charges; and the person's residency status (e.g., an illegal alien resident, U.S. citizen, etc.).  It is possible ICE could be notified -- and ICE could put a hold on her that would not enable her release.  However, I do not do immigration law -- so I cannot provide details as to that issue.   Your friend's charge is not a violent or major criminal offense.  So under most circumstances, she would be entitled to a bond -- assuming she is not being held on any other charges or for ICE.  Due to her immigration status (i.e., you say she does not have any legal documents in the country), that may impact what normally would be done.
