What could happen to me in a grand theft?

Answered by attorney Eric J Trabin (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at The Trabin Law Firm, P.L.
Grand Theft is a 3rd degree felony punishable by up to 5 years and a $5,000.00 fine. As a juvenile, you will likely be kept in the juvenile system unless the State decides to "direct file" you and charge you as an adult. Your sentence as a juvenile really depends on your individual circumstances and the recommendations of the Department of Juvenile Justice. You could be put on probation or entered into a juvenile program for up until your 19th birthday. Hire a lawyer to handle your criminal cases.

There is no Florida Statute with that number. WHLD Adjudication means that the person was not convicted.

Thsi seems to be a complex case in that "private" detectives are interviewing you - not the "government" detectives - such as sheriff or local police.  I am not sure why you are even tlaking to them and why they would have given you Miranda warnings if they have no authority to arrest you.    If there is no court order for a polygraph test, I am not sure why you would agree to take one or how they can compel you to take it.
