What is the statute of limitations for getting a minor pregnant?

Jared Clayton Austin
Answered by attorney Jared Clayton Austin (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Austin Legal Services, PLC
If she was 17 she was not a minor under the law. At 17, she can be charged as an adult for crimes and the age of consent in Michigan is 16. Unless it was not consensual, there is no crime.

I would not worry about it. He can not have possession of a firearm under the circumstances you describe. Possession is care, custody and control. He lacks all of those in your situation. He will be fine unless he decides to break into your room and your safe and gain access to the weapon.

Unfortunately, there is a possibility that he can be arrested. Once a police report has been made, the allegations and charges are sent to the District Attorney to determine whether to file charges with the court. The decision to file charges, reduce charges, prosecute a case or dismiss a case is solely at the discretion of the District Attorney or Prosecuting Attorney.
