Conviction date is when you are found guilty either by a verdict at trial or by a plea. The sentencing date comes after the conviction date and is a separate court hearing.

Can a passenger in a vehicle be charged if drugs are found in the driver's purse?

That is a common tactic used by police and prosecutors to get one person to turn on the other one. Consult with an experienced Michigan criminal defense attorney to review the case, police reports, any dash videos, for any Fourth Amendment violations that may have occurred with the search of the vehicle. Evidence may be able to be suppressed which could lead to the charges being reduced or dismissed.

What can I do if my child is being threatened with life and bullied in school?

I hope you are notifying the school authorities in writing. Phone calls won't work. Send or deliver them to the principal, and the school district, and you might consider sending copies to the police detective who originally notified you as well. If you have not done this before, in your first written notification now, put down the history of these complaints and the fact that nothing has been done. I hope this works for you.
