About my warrant

Answered by attorney Kenneth G. Wincorn
Criminal Law lawyer at Law Offices of Kenneth G. Wincorn & Associates, P.C.
Most counties have a juvenile system in place where these cases are handled. A lawyer can help you to resolve the problem without great damage to you but one or both of your parents need to be involved.

How do I get a court-appointed lawyer?

Jeralyn Elise Merritt
Answered by attorney Jeralyn Elise Merritt (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Jeralyn E. Merritt
If you are indigent and charged with a misdemeanor or felony, you are entitled to be represented by counsel. If you cannot afford private counsel, the Court will appoint a lawyer for you. At your next court date, you should advise the Judge that you cannot afford a lawyer. The Judge will have you fill out a form or application listing your income, assets, and debts. Upon reviewing the application, if the Court finds that you are indigent and without resources to pay for a private lawyer, the Court will appoint you a lawyer. In most instances, the Public Defender\\\'s office will be appointed to represent you. However, if your case involves more than one defendant, and the Public Defender\\\'s office is representing someone else charged in your case, the Court will appoint you a lawyer from a list of private lawyers who have agreed to represent people at reduced rates. The Court will pay the lawyer directly. For matters other than misdemeanors, such as petty offenses or traffic tickets, you most likely will not be eligible for appointed counsel, but you should ask the Judge because the rules vary from state to state.

What kind of violation is it to contact the court?

Answered by attorney Mark R. Thiessen
Criminal Law lawyer at Thiessen Law Firm
You can contact the Court. He is just mad because it looks like he hasn't been doing his job, which he hasn't. Unfortunately, you get what you pay for and the PDs office may not care too much about yall. You can either hire an attorney to really fight this or hope the PD gets on top of his game.
