If you do not show up at Court, then you will be defaulted, and non-payment can mean suspension of your license. If the Police Officer does not show up on a hearing date (not a pre-trial) then you can ask to have the case dismissed.

Call your local paper or news station. That will put some heat under the police. If not, you can try to hire an attorney to take the case and present it to a Grand Jury.

Can I get this expunged and what costs am I looking at both for penalty as well as attorney fees?

Answered by attorney Mark R. Thiessen
Criminal Law lawyer at Thiessen Law Firm
You absolutely need to hire an attorney. You are charged as a thief and could be labeled that for the rest of your life. You can't afford that. You need to get this case dismissed to get an expunction. Your arrest is also public record. Hire the best lawyer you can afford and fight it with everything you got.
