What are his options or deals he can get?

The best thing to do is for him to get back on the judge's calendar, recall the warrant, and face the music. That is much better than waiting to get arrested on the warrant. Before doing so, he might just do that community service he was supposed to have done, and show proof to the judge. He may end up doing some more, as a punishment for not doing it in the first place, but at least he can show the judge he is willing to obey the court's orders this time.

What penalties can my son get for resisting arrest and attempted assault if he has priors?

In Michigan, for a Felony, one calculates a sentencing range by utilizing the Michigan Sentencing Guidelines. First, you "score" points concerning the person's Prior Record Variables, or "PRV's." Next, you "score" points concerning the person's Offense Variables, or "OV's." After scoring points on the PRV's and the OV's, a chart will indicate what the person's sentencing guideline range should be. Calculating one's sentencing guidelines range is a quite complex procedure, so I would kindly but strongly recommend you consult with a Criminal Defense attorney to calculate your son's range.

It means the Prosecutor can file the case as a felony or a misdemeanor. And, it means the Court can reduce a felony to a misdemeanor if it so chooses.
