Is it true that you receive half time on your first prison term, no matter what your convictions are?

No. You receive 1/2 time on a sentence that is not for a serious or violent crime. For those you only get 15% credit.

I know you submit to a chemical test when you apply for your drivers permit, but do they test you right then and there?

I have never heard of anyone being tested when they go for their driver's permit or license. You would only be tested if you are pulled over on suspicion of a DUI.

How much trouble will I be for property damage?

It just depends on whether the DA files it as a felony or a misdemeanor. You need an attorney. I've negotiated no-jail dispositions for vandalism cases like yours. In my experience, if the damage was not too severe, you're willing and able to pay for the damage quickly, and you don't have a record, a no-jail disposition is realistic. My main concern with your case is the bottle bombs. They're very dangerous and DAs may not look kindly on that aspect of the case. Again, you need an attorney.
