In these cases, the problem is you called the cops. It is now out if your hands to simply resolve the case. You need to hire a lawyer to advise you what you can do and how to avoid false reporting charges against you.

In criminal court, what does the law say about a spouse testifying for or against their spouse?

Answered by attorney Nathaniel D Shafer
Criminal Law lawyer at Natty Shafer Law
In Utah, a spouse cannot be forced to testify. Tell the court that you wish to invoke your "spousal privilege" to refuse to testify. If you are uncomfortable doing this, or you want to have possible consequences explained to you, you should hire a lawyer.
