Missed my court date for a petty larceny charge in NYC how much will an attorney cost me.

Answered by attorney Warren S. Hecht
Criminal Law lawyer at Warren S. Hecht
I would just add to Mr. Nass' response that the fee may also attend on your criminal history. If attorney thinks that case can be resolved after one or two court dates the fee would be lower than a situation which will require a few appearances and motions/trial

How do I sue for emotional distress?

default-avatar
Answered by attorney Marco Caviglia (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Marco Caviglia, Esq.
It is unclear if you are still in the relationship but she is still perpetrating the conduct. If you can show these things are true, you are a domestic violence victim, given the nature of the relationships. You can seek to file charges in criminal court which might include harassment, aggravated harassment or to file a family offense petition in Family court. You should consult an attorney for a detailed strategy and solution.

How long will my brother be held in jail for a felony?

default-avatar
Answered by attorney John F Brennan (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Musilli Brennan Associates, PLLC
I do not understand your question, and it seem odd that your brother would be in jail for 5 years before a trial and his conviction. His attorney, although paid by you, has a confidentiality duty to your brother, his client, and therefore may have a professional duty NOT to speak with you. You should visit with and communicate directly with your brother, and have him grant permission to his lawyer to speak with you if that is necessary.
