Can you shorten the sentence for manslaughter?

Jared Clayton Austin
Answered by attorney Jared Clayton Austin (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Austin Legal Services, PLC
A no contest plea does not affect a sentence in any way. The sentence for felonies is determined by your sentencing guideline range which takes into consideration a number of factors including the particular facts of this offense as well as any prior criminal history. Once those are determined, they formulate a range in terms of months or years that the judge should sentence you in. That is why sentencing is such a crucial stage and it is vitally important to make sure all the offense and prior record variables are scored correctly.

How can I get my vehicle back after a raid?

Answered by attorney Marshall S. Tauber
Criminal Law lawyer at Law Offices of Marshall S. Tauber
You will need to talk to the officer in charge of the case and ask if you can either get the return of your vehicles or, at the very least, a notice of seizure or intent to forfeit served on you (not any document already served on your nephew or his friend) so that you may file a bond and make a timely claim as an innocent owner for their return.

Criminal Law lawyer at Freeborn Law Offices P.S.
There is absolutely no way I can advise you based upon the fact that you have provided me with minimal information. My advice to you is to retain an attorney to go over this case with you and only after doing so can your question be answered.
