Over priced and underwhelming. We used this lawyer at our realtor’s suggestion. Do not go with your realtor’s recommendation and reach out to several before selecting one. That would have saved us a lot of heart ache . Mr. Betancourt was abrasive at times and would cut us off when asking questions or disregard them. When we asked options to potentially back out, instead of explaining options to us - he reached out to the seller’s attorney saying we wanted to back out. When we asked to include survivorship clause he incorrectly told us the Lender was responsible for that - which when we contacted lender informed us rightfully so it was a legal issue. Pricing was more also more than standard . Stay away .
I called because I want to enter a sheldan partners agreement with my partner in another country. I called reception and was directed to an unknown party who didn't even identify himself. I stated my case and asked if this office handled international business law. The answer one word NO.. Then was hung up on before I could ask who or what number to call for help. I THINK THIS WAS A VERY RUDE WAY TO HANDLE THE CALL!!
Absolutely arrogant and unprofessional. He did not take the time to explain anything. Does not take responsibility for any mistakes. You are better off hiring someone else.
STAY AWAY! High-priced below-average service. My experience with Mr.Betancourt has been one of a high level of arrogance on his part and a lack of communication on behalf of his entire office staff, on more than one occasion. It was very frustrating to pay for a caliber of service of legal advice and then be spoken to in a condescending and unprofessional manner. As a health-care professional, I try to explain medical situations to my patients using everyday language and then ensure they comprehend what I am trying to relay to them. Mr.Betancourt spoke to me using legal jargon and questioned some of my opinions and decisions in a very condescending tone. My realtor recommended attorney Betancourt because of his experience with a certain real-estate taxation transaction I was interested in benefiting from, but I wish I would've stuck with Antonio Espinosa Esq in Elizabeth.He was always a pleasure and easy to work with.It is evident to me that Mr.Betancourt only has his interests in mind
