Collins & Hepler, PLC is a small law firm offering a diversified practice, with a focus on criminal defense, traffic infractions, personal injury, medical malpractice, real estate, elder law, estate planning, and guardianships, along with such basic legal services as deeds, wills, powers of attorney, and adoptions.

At Collins & Hepler, PLC, our experienced attorneys approach each case with care and integrity. We are privileged to have enjoyed a long history of service to the Alleghany Highlands and surrounding areas, and we are proud of our record of success. We strive to provide personalized, principled, and aggressive representation, whether defending a simple traffic citation, or pursuing a complex appeal to the Supreme Court of Virginia.

The Collins family has been providing legal services in the Highlands for over 100 years. Michael M. Collins, a native of Covington, Virginia, was preceded in the Covington office by his father, Hale Collins (1901-1971), who served twenty years in the Virginia Legislature.

Our attorneys have handled hundreds of personal injury claims over the course of decades, and have achieved substantial verdicts and settlements in automobile accident, medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, and other personal injury cases.

We also bring decades of experience to our criminal defense practice, ranging from traffic infractions and DUI's to serious felonies, including the prosecution and defense of capital murder cases.

We are proud to be the first law firm in Alleghany and surrounding counties to offer a full range of elder law services, to help our clients to preserve and maintain the maximum allowable assets and income when faced with nursing home debt. We launched Legal Solutions for Seniors, www.legalsolutionsforseniors.com, to focus on elder law issues.

Collins & Hepler, PLC provides general legal services to the counties of Alleghany, Rockbridge, Botetourt, and Bath, and we accept selected elder law, personal injury and medical malpractice cases anywhere in the state of Virginia.

The Lawsuit represented me at Alleghany County General District Court 01/28/2014. I had traffic violation ,recklessness driving and speeding 83mph at limit 70mph. The attorney represented me at court himself (other attorneys ordered me appear at court, in fact that I am resident of CHICAGO,IL)and finally reduce my fine to $300 and on my driving record added 3 points. I think they did a good job. I recommend this lawsuit to solve your problems plus reasonable price and excellent service
