Hired Attorney Todd Zimmer

I’d never hired a lawyer before. My dad and I went to Zimmer for a “free consultation” (which I was later sneakily charged for on my first bill, FYI be careful). He seemed great. He said all the right things and made my father and I comfortable. He assured me I could call, email, or text him any time and he would immediately respond. I was ecstatic to have found a lawyer I felt I could trust, and I felt would fight for me. We discussed money and how much this could cost me in the long run (general idea of the cost of a lawyer). He said, "If this gets dragged out we could be looking at $6500". We paid the retainer fee ($3500) in the office, expecting we'd be paying about another $3000. I typed up an 8 page outline of a timeline history for Zimmer to use to submit a petition to the courts for custody of my daughter and had a few instances where I needed Zimmer’s help ASAP (my daughters dad wouldn’t release her after his dinner parenting time, etc). The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*

• AV Preeminent®: The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.
