The Manely Firm, PC is a law firm established in 1993 with an office in Columbus, GA. At this office location, there is 1 lawyer practicing family law, alimony, child custody and 15 other areas of law.
The Manely Firm advertised 30 minutes free consultation; however, they have charged me for every minute of interaction I had with the firm. By my calculations The Manely Firm owes me a slight refund from the $750.00 I paid in trust when the 30 minute free consultation is taken into consideration. However, I am willing to accept simply dropping the additional charges and The Manely Firm keeping the $750.00 I paid for the services in trust originally. Unfortunately, they won't respond to me.
Drove costs way up for months even though I went in saying I had limited funds. In the end mr abernathy basically forced me to settle for things I was uncomfortable with to "keep costs down". He got a horrible attitude with me when I tried to express my concerns and it honestly seemed like he was working for the other side. I was VERY unsatisfied and frustrated with his services! And it is all at my children's expense
SCAM! STAY AWAY. Unethical firm. They need to be reported. They do not do their job. I cannot believe these people call themself lawyers. They are a shame to the profession. They are more like bad salesmen than lawyers. I cannot believe they are still being able to practice. They have so many complains since 2015. A group action needs to be placed against them.
10/10 would NOT recommend. The only thing they are successful at doing is collecting a check. They listen to what you initially say, claim they can help, and then wait until the end to say that there is nothing that they can do. They switched attorney’s and people left during my case more that I can count. You’re better off fighting for yourself than having them even think about it. Please save yourself the time, money, energy, and even headache by going someplace else that actually has their client best interest at heart or representing yourself. Thousands of dollars spent and I NEVER even made it to court. Matter of fact, it was recommended that I don’t go and just drop the situation. Let’s just say I’m experiencing the consequences of that now!
This was the WORST experience of my life! If you have a time sensitive case- DO NOT HIRE THIS FIRM! Their staff members LIE about your case status, charge you monthly for doing nothing on your case, and then refuse to reimburse. Find another attorney!
I hired the Manely Law Firm to handle a grandparent custody issue. I was assigned to Jennifer T. McCall. She claimed to be an experienced family law attorney. She definitely is not an experienced family law attorney. I paid this firm $6000.
Mrs. McCall did absolutely nothing for me. We had a temporary hearing which she didn't prepare me for at all and she seemed scared of opposing counsel. Mrs. McCall should be fired, she is no good as a family law attorney. This law firm are a bunch of crooks.
This was an experience I don't wish on anyone. This firm was ready to take my money - and did; however, the attorney was absent, never available and the work was incomplete. I should have realized during the free consultation when I felt like I might be speaking with a used car salesman instead of an attorney that this might look good, but doesn't run properly. The attorney was not only passive aggressive, but condescending and rude.
