Hired Attorney Anna M. Parise

Incompetence involving GAL duties assigned to her. Anna was personal friends with my ex-husband's neighbor, resulting in blatant bias against me, despite stepmother having CPS claims against her and attending anger counseling. Anna sided with my ex for custody, to which was a moot point one year later, as stepmother couldn't cope, so ex agreed to relinquish custody. Daughter finally thrived, as my husband and I knew she would.

Kenny lied to my face on multiple occasions. He was only interested in his own paycheck. Kenny also made veiled racist statements throughout our interaction. I cannot in good faith recommend his services to anyone.

Lawyer.com, This is true so please save this letter on this site as you have kept other reviews Kenneth Cahill from Dworken & Bernstein was hired as a divorce atty & I would not recommend him. At the courthouse Ken was not prepared & accepted the wrong list from my ex's atty even though I gave him the correct list days before. Anticipating his lack of preparation I handed him the correct list. While reviewing the divorce papers I found several errors. The main error: -Asking me to return a gun I never had Ken should have caught these errors before giving them to me, Ken never gave me the final divorce package and allowed my ex's atty to give both packets to the magistrate. Ken’s negligence & lack of advocacy led to my loss. Ken sent me paperwork for another client Mit—l vs Mit—l Sent Ken letters & called - no response. Please think more than twice about retaining Miss Parise. Not only is she heartless and incompetent but she defends spousal abusers. She is well aware these clients have abused or are currently abusing or harassing their exes and still fights for them. Money talks apparently.

At initial consult, Ken seemed to know the rules and players of Lake County family court very well. He was articulate and appeared studious in listening and trying to understand what was important to me. I hired him and paid a large retainer for what should have been a simple divorce. Over the course of negotiating, I stuck with what was important relating to the custody and support of my children. Opposing counsel was extremely aggressive and Ken became less and less responsive. After he claimed he would be filing paperwork with the court leading up to what was to be a final decree, he did not reply for an extended period of time. When I arrived at court to sign the documents, I found that the documents that Ken had drafted had been replaced in whole by documents drafted by opposing counsel. I was given a brief time to review before the hearing and missed numerous material changes from what had been previously agreed to, reducing my rights and increasing my costs. Ken did a bad job

I retained Ms. Parise's services based primarily on her Avvo score, since at the time she did not have any client reviews. If only she did, I could have saved so much time, frustration, and money. To say she did a poor job with my case would be misleading, since it implies she did anything at all. If you retain Ms. Parise, you should fully expect many unreturned phone calls and e-mails, but absolutely nothing else. She is more than happy to fiddle while your case burns.
